Grand Lagoon Neighbors,

As we continue to educate our Grand Lagoon community about the planned development of two Marriott hotels with an adjoining waterpark on 8 acres of land across from Captain Andersons, we want to share the goals of this effort so you understand why we ask for your signature.

Although Change.org asks for donations, we do not. We ask for your participation to stop or modify the development of two hotels on this site.

We hope to gather signatures, meet with Grand Lagoon residents and form a list of concerns about this development and submit these concerns to the Bay County Commissioners, the Bay County Planning and Zoning, the developer and the owners. Looking ahead, we hope to use this discussion as a way to engage the Commissioners in a strategic discussion about a Grand Lagoon master plan. It is this strategic plan we hope to devise as a community, a neighborhood of residents who speak with one voice. We hope this master plan allows us to plan and manage growth in Grand Lagoon aligned to residential visions. We all talk about what we want and don't want so let's commit to it and use it. 

We want our business owners to thrive. We don't want to be told what will and won't be developed. We all talk about the perception of greed driving our community. Let's change the narrative.  Together, let's chart a course that allows Grand Lagoon to retain its small town coastal charm.  Let's look ahead to ensure our property prices do no drive us out of our homes.

So, eith that said, let's gather these signatures, continue to educate and engage our neighbors about this project. Let's submit a kist of our concerns and engage the County Commissioners. We will ask for a workshop, and attend an upcoming Commission meeting. We will ho on the record and begin a partnership that enables us to have a say in our Grand Lagoon neighborhoods.
