Located at the corner of Thomas Drive and North Lagoon is a large and very active nest. Possibly eagle, but possibly osprey.

We contacted Bay County Planning and Zoning today and asked about the process to express our environmental concerns about the wildlife located on the 8 acre planned developme t of two Marriott hotels to be built by The Odom Hotel Group. The President and CEO Jay Odom is from Destin, Florida.

While the County Commisioners say because this lot is properly zoned and the development is moving forward, there is no need to conduct any impact studies. Don't tell the birds that if they are osprey are protected species.

We oppose the County Commission and the developer's unwillingness to consider this planned developments impact on our environment, protected species, vehicle, pedestrian, bicycling and infrastructure. This is a $60 million project.

OPPOSE this development! Write your Bay County Commissioner AND the Planning and Zoning Office. Your letter will go into the developer's file and be on the record!
