There is a real threat that Adams Road may be turned into a busway under the 'City Deal' proposals.  Adams Road is one of Cambridge's main bike thoroughfares between the West Cambridge University site and the City Centre. Thousands of cyclists and pedestrians use Adams Road and the Coton footpath everyday.  Converting the route into a major busway will either endanger cyclists or force them to be re-routed and their journeys significantly extended, not to mention destroying an area of historical and environmental importance.
