The "Constitutional Carry" bills in the South Carolina House and Senate will have a direct and immediate negative impact on public safety and law enforcement in our state. 

These bills seek to remove the permit, training, and age requirements to conceal or open carry handguns in most public spaces. 

South Carolina has an extensive, growing, and uncontrolled gun violence problem that will get worse if constitutional carry passes. Currently:

• South Carolina has the 5th highest rate of childhood deaths by gun violence among all states
• South Carolina has the 4th highest rate of firearm theft among all states
• 85% of murders (including suicides) and 55% of robberies in South Carolina are committed with a firearm

Our kids need us to act fast to protect them. With only 6 weeks left in the session, legislators are working extremely quickly to pass this dangerous legislation - we need the support of you and your local networks now.
