For many years now I’ve watched too many children and elderly people be air lifted out of our local school field due to injuries from being struck by vehicles speeding in school/park/residential areas. 
I am creating this petition for the families and people of the City of Mission and to call on the CITY AND LOCAL RCMP to make additional changes to the Cedar/Cherry/Egglestone area IMMEDIATELY. 
Very recently, the entire length of the AME SCHOOL field has been made a PARK ZONE which states 30KM DAWN TO DUSK. And just this evening, before dusk, another person was air lifted by an emergency helicopter because they were struck by a vehicle. 
There are still people speeding through these areas REGULARLY and it has to stop. Either by increased police presence or putting in a flashing crosswalk OR speed bumps. 
These incidents are UNACCEPTABLE and too recent. AND AVOIDABLE.

The next step is bringing this matter to the City of Mission, city council and local RCMP branch, newspapers, news stations, etc - and sharing these signatures to bring to light the very real issue we are facing everyday here. This whole area is children, parks, schools and elderly people. There is absolutely no reason why our families cannot go out and enjoy our neighborhood without the fear of being hit by a vehicle driven by someone who values their time more than the lives of fellow humans. 

I will not quietly watch another child or senior get air lifted out of this school field because someone cannot follow the rules of the roads. 

It’s time to get loud about this you guys.
