The Issue

Since 2022, thousands of white-collar professionals across the U.S.—from individual contributors to senior leaders—have lost their jobs due to mass layoffs, corporate restructuring, and budget cuts in key industries such as tech, government, healthcare, education, and finance. These are skilled professionals—analysts, HR managers, engineers, project managers, operations specialists, administrative staff, IT professionals, marketers, senior directors, and executives—who helped build and sustain the modern workforce.

Yet, despite their talent and experience, many remain unemployed or underemployed. They are often overlooked due to resume gaps, automated screening systems, or slow, outdated hiring practices.

Operation HIRE NOW: Is a national call to action urging decision-makers in the public and private sectors to prioritize the reemployment of experienced professionals who have been left behind.

✅ We demand action to:

  • Hire professionals impacted by layoffs and restructuring since 2022
  • Create returnships, job shadowing, and short-term gig projects to reengage talent
  • Launch internal mobility and reskilling programs to enable career pivots
  • Reduce time-to-fill and streamline the interview process to restore income and stability quickly
  • Remove hiring barriers like age bias and resume gaps
  • Commit to long-term talent reintegration strategies for the long-term

💼 This is not just about jobs—it's about:

  • Rebuilding economic security
  • Restoring dignity and purpose
  • Reclaiming the career momentum lost to mass layoffs and corporate upheaval
  • We are calling on employers, HR leaders, recruiters, and government policymakers to act now.
