During this mornings session of the Commission Meeting, Deputy Chairmen of the DFW Commission, Larry Carpenter gave a strong admonishment to Director Unsworth for the Departments failure to include the Commission in the details of the recently released Ten Year Chinook Harvest Plan. The plan, which was crafted between the Tribal Co-managers and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, without any public oversight, and excluding any detailed information being provided to the Commission.
Commissioner Carpenter reminded the Director that the Departments actions falls under the supervision of the Commission, and the exclusion of the Commission in the process is unacceptable.
We are thankful to Commissioner Carpenter for saying what we have been saying for a long time now, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
It is now more important than ever that we follow such a strong statement by our Commission with a loud and strong message from the stakeholders.
There is still an opportunity for you to speak directly to the Commission. Today, Friday the 8th, at 5:00 there is another public input session. And again tomorrow morning at 8:30!
Be here a few minutes early and sign in to speak!
YOU NEED TO MAKE IT HERE! WE HAVE THE MOMENTUM LIKE NEVER BEFORE TO EFFECT REAL CHANGE. DON'T LET US FAIL BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T SPEAK OUT WHEN YOU HAD A CHANCE!
I WILL SEE YOU HERE!
