It’s been years since the Rowena Reservoir was ready to open. Nearby residents have been eager to enter the beautiful reservoir grounds which has spectacular paths and a wonderful array of plants all surrounding a glimmering pond. Yet, Rowena has never opened its doors to the public. 

Why is this? 

Rowena Reservoir is controlled by the LADWP, who have been adamant in keeping the park closed off to the people. This needs to be changed. 

We must urge Councilmember Nithya Raman to pressure the LADWP into opening Rowena Reservoir to the public.

Opening Rowena would improve the neighborhood in many ways. Not only would it provide a calming environment for people to relax, it would also provide a safe space for students after school, parents to push their kids in strollers, and an escape from urban life. 

Many groups and individuals have worked to open Rowena and it’s time for their voices to be recognized and heard.
