Palmer Resort Management need to open the gate to the underpass between the Dennis Family's new beachside estate and the Palmer Resort Coolum. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. 

This issue has been ongoing since 2021, when the Palmer Resort Management shut the gate citing the refurbishment works taking place onsite. At the time the gate was closed, Dr Elizabeth Brunton (University of the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Ecologist) said 'It is important for the safety and longevity of this kangaroo population for the underpass to be reopened as soon as possible'. 

In the last month, we've seen 3 kangaroo deaths plus a joey on the David Low Way, close to the underpass. 

Palmer Resort management have been asked to open the gate to allow safe passage for wildlife, as was the case for many years. This request has been refused. 

We're calling on Palmer Resort Management to open the gate to give our kangaroos a chance to cross to the golf course safely.
