Dear supporters,

On the first day of the 2025/2026 school year, I am very happy to share that the Desautels Concert Hall will be open from now on for student credit recitals. This is a very welcome change announced to students by the new Dean of Music and the School of Art, Dr. Stephen Runge, last week. 

This change ensures that all 4th year undergraduate (BMus and B.Jazz), post-baccalaureate, and graduate performance recitals will be able to take place in the Desautels Concert Hall. No venue rental fee will be charged for the use of the concert hall beyond the usual $100 recital fee.

Thank you all for your support throughout this process - without our work together this change would not have been possible. Students will now be able to benefit from the beautiful Desautels Concert Hall - which is very much in line with the late Dr. Marcel Desautel’s vision!
