Open Letter to ComCast CEO - Brian L. Roberts. Re: Kat Tenbarge

What does integrity look like at NBC News?

Dear Mr Roberts,

As the parent company for NBC Universal, ComCast has impressive values and an ingrained integrity that would provide a moral compass for all its media interests and content producers. While a supportive and diversity-rich culture is being fostered, I would expect the same ethos to be transposed into produced content and instil a unique trust with the audience. While this might be true for most journalists and contributors on your extended payroll, I do solemnly feel the need to bring to your attention that Tech and Culture reporter Kat Tenbarge for NBC News does not seem to carry the same honourable intentions.

Tenbarge’s Twitter account is littered with conduct that walks a precarious ethics line and projects a personal bias in support of Amber Heard’s innocence while it has been proved that Ms. Heard lied. As the rest of the world tries to move on, Tenbarge continues to mock, harass and create unnecessary drama...to have something to write about? To hurt a member of the JusticeForJohnnyDepp community, Tenbarge has most recently doxxed family information relating to Media Commentator TheRealLauraB (@LauraBockov). While Tenbarge may argue that the family member’s info was already online, it was not readily searchable or associated with Laura Brockov’s online presence in any way. The correlation now made does have a huge impact on her family’s safety. Why was Tenbarge looking for this info? For a story? Isn't personal information found as part of NBC’s journalism research meant to be kept private?

I ask you, where is the “trickled down” integrity and core values at NBC News that Tenbarge should be showing in her work? Where is her positive impact on society? What sort of role model is she creating for aspiring reporters when doxxing people she disagrees with? Does “Doing the right thing and acting with integrity” actually exist at NBC?

While doxxing violations have been reported by many in the community, Twitter and NBC do nothing. Kat Tenbarge’s Twitter account should be deleted. Surely the man at the top can please offer resolution to Tenbarge's online harassment that has somehow been allowed to continue.

Yours sincerely...
