Open a Congressional Investigation Into Calls to Endanger American Cities
The Issue
I said what I said because I meant every word of it. When I heard a president talk like American cities are disposable, like Los Angeles and San Diego are somehow a “small price to pay,” I wasn’t confused, and I wasn’t looking for spin. I’m tired of the backtracking, the excuses, and the endless attempts to explain away language that treats people in this country like collateral damage.
This is bigger than one ugly soundbite. No president is sworn in to protect only the people they like, only the states they win, or only the voters who cheer for them. A president takes an oath to defend the United States. That means all of us. When rhetoric crosses the line into talking like foreign harm against American cities is acceptable, Congress cannot just shrug and move on like this is normal.
That is why I am calling on Congress to open a formal investigation into any statements or conduct that suggest a willingness to let foreign powers harm American cities. The public deserves a clear record, public accountability, and a direct response from the people whose job is oversight. We need hearings, findings, and a statement in plain English that no leader gets to flirt with sacrificing American communities and call it patriotism.
I’m not interested in watered-down outrage or excuses about “context” that erase what people heard with their own ears. I want accountability that is real, public, and impossible to ignore. If you believe no president should ever speak about Los Angeles, San Diego, or any American city as expendable, sign this petition and demand Congress do its job.
