We want our police officers to demonstrate compassion and advocacy especially for the helpless. This police officer thought the best way to respond to a call re: coyotes was to drive over a large dog in the middle of the road several times. Seeing it was a dog, he got out and shot it. Even if this was a coyote no one wants it to be treated this way. No animal should be mistreated. This officer’s story doesn’t jive with the public’s video tape. This petition is being circulated to prevent the officer returning to active duty with the public; we’re asking that he be given a desk job-booking criminals/hookers or in the evidence room for the rest of his career. OPP doesn’t need an officer simulating Walter Palmer who killed Cecil the lion!
