Banning Animal Testing In Ontario

Did you know that around one-hundred million animals die while subjected to painful experiments annually? The animals endure unspeakable pain during tests without painkillers; involving force feeding and dripping chemicals into the animals' eyes. Furthermore, the animals are kept in confined spaces. In addition, animal testings are not completely reliable. 95% of drugs that pass during animal testing fail during human trials.

Animal testing is cruel and inhumane, and yet--it is still occurring in Canada. This means the animals feel pain while enduring tests. Many alternatives exist in lieu of animal testing, such as human volunteers, computer simulations, in vitro testings, and plant cell testings. Despite the plethora of alternatives that exist, the Canadian federal government still allows animal testing to occur.

Here at White Oaks Secondary School, we are raising awareness on this issue in Canada in hopes to pass Bill-S 214, which will ban animal testing for cosmetics in the country. With support from people like you, we can make our wishes a reality. Together, we can be the voice for the voiceless.
