Ontario Parks reservation system is broken and needs to be fixed.

Ontario's Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Jeff Yurek has the power to review and reform the reservation system.

In theory Ontarians have the opportunity to reserve campsites five months in advance by booking early and with some luck.

In practice, this is impossible with the increasing popularity of the parks and vulnerabilities in the system which allow people to book in advance and pay a fee to then change their dates. 

Ontario Parks have been notified several times over the years but have no plans to address it. 

With COVID creating more demand on domestic and provincial tourism, there is a understandably a drain on supply but there is a reasonable expectation that Ontario Parks as a provincial government agency is doing what it can to provide a fair system for outdoor recreation.

This petition supports Ontario Parks and the job the agency is responsible for including managing our parks but this issue needs to be publicised until there is meaningful change that supports a fairer system that doesn't encourage system manipulation and favour those who can afford to cheat the system.
