Enact Bill 80, Ontario Service Dogs Act

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Bill 80, Ontario Service Dogs Act will help enable legitimate service dog owners, handlers, trainers and orgainzations conduct training, certification for those with a disability as described in this act. Once the act becomes law those with a service dog will not be denied access as described in the bill. Those who fraudulently display as a service dog team can be fined as described in this bill.

There are dog owners who take thier dogs in public who do not have the necessary training which results in violent, aggressive and poor behviour tarnishing the reputation of those who spend months & years in training thier service dog for thier needs.

Hopefully this act will also clear the misunderstanding between service dog, for one person with a disability (task trained), emotional support not for public access (not task trained) and therapy for public.

ID card would be issued by the Government of Ontario (Service Ontario) that would provide proof. Hopefully under this act, 2 types would be provided for both "in training" and "certified" dogs.
