ONTARIO GOVERNMENT: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH OF UNETHICAL DOG BREEDING

1,604

The Issue

Puppy Mills are not just cruel and inhumane. That is enough but the tentacles of the impact are far reaching.

  1. The conditions the dogs are forced to live in is inhumane.
  2. The breeding dogs have zero quality of life. They are simply a commodity with an expiry date. Then their life is extinguished.
  3. The breeder dogs do not feel grass under their feet but wire mesh. No one is cuddling them.
  4. People looking to adopt a puppy are being mislead as to the true source of their puppy. The advertising is all smoke and mirrors and emotional manipulation.
  5. They see terms like “licensed” and “Canadian Kennel Club” and are led to believe this means legitimacy and consumer protection and healthy dogs.
  6. Very sick puppies are commonly being sold. New adopters are then faced with extremely high vet bills or having to euthanize their new family member. Some of these illnesses are contagious to humans
  7. Puppy mills are syndicates. Often involving branches of organized crime. Puppies are an immense underground cash economy.

How a society treats their animals or allows others to treat animals is a direct reflection on the society itself. Ontario - we are so much better than this.

For years, politicians have said puppy mills must be eliminated, that it is an important issue. Then NOTHING happens.

Lets make something happen! Let’s demand something happens!
