Final Exams in Maharashtra to be conducted in online Mode.

"When classes on zoom,why examinations should be held in room?"

1.The Global Pandemic has caused a great loss to education system.Since 2 years the students had moved to online mode of teaching. This resulted in change of pattern and the questions asked were in the MCQ format in the examinations.

2. The academic semester this year started in September and the exams for Savitribai Phule Pune University which is conducted in the month of October (Winter Exams) generally was suppose to be conducted in December but the same was conducted in the month of March and April and is still going on in few colleges.The University has announced to conduct the exams in offline mode for the month of June/July. Within a span of 1 month they have to prepare for offline exams with the burden of completing the projects, dissertation and tutorials.Most of them who are placed if unfortunately fail in exams would loose their job and those who have applied for higher education or foreign universities might loose the opportunity.

3. Few departments and colleges of Savitribai Phule Pune University kept on continuing with the online mode and have suddenly put a notice to the students to come to the college for offline classes and exams leading to lot of unrest amongst the students. The outstation students are facing a lot of problems because the lease period is of 11 months and are not getting proper accommodation. The students are also not getting reservation and flight tickets are very much exorbitant in the current scenario.

4.The problems are being faced by more than 25 lakhs students in whole of Maharashtra as well as students who come to Maharashtra to study from these reputed universities.The protests are being called off in Nagpur,Pune and Mumbai demanding the Vice-Chancellors for Online Exams for Summer 2022 but the Vice-Chancellors are cleverly putting the blame on the State Government and the State Government is saying that University is free to conduct exams in any mode. It more of looks like the Government and Vice Chancellors of the Universities are playing Table Tennis where students are like TT ball.No one is worried about the tremendous stress and anxiety these students are going through everyday.

5.Where the Universities of other states  can declare online exams why it has come to the ego of Maharashtra Govt to make a simple declaration relieving more than 25 lakhs students?The state of Chattisgarh has got the same government too.As per Article 14 and 21 of the Indian Constitution everyone is entitled to equality and personal liberty respectively.The Maharashtra Government is violating the constitutional rights of many students.The Mumbai University is another discriminatory institution which is having separate rules for professional as well non professional courses.

On the behalf of students of Maharashtra and all those who come to Maharashtra to seek quality education I, Adv.Tulika Singh(seeking anonymity) a post graduation law student from a university of Maharashtra  is raising this petition so that justice is done to the students.
