이 서명운동은 우리나라의 자결권에 관한 것입니다. 대한민국 헌법은 대한민국의 주권이 (남북을 포함한) 한반도 전체에 미친다고 명시하고 있습니다. 하지만 주권과 함께 오는 것은 기본권, 자유, 그리고 안전을 (북한에 있는 사람들을 포함한) 우리국민들에게 보장하는 신성한 책임입니다. This petiton concerns our nation's right to self-determination. The ROK Constitution stipulates that the whole of the Korean Peninsula (North and South) falls under ROK sovereignty. But with sovereignty comes the sacred responsibility of ensuring the basic rights, freedoms and safety of those citizens—including all those found in the North. 우리는 대한민국 정부에 요청합니다. 헌법적 권위 안에서 (은밀하고 이름을 밝힐 수 없는 작전계획들을 포함하여) 가능한 모든 수단을 동원하여 북한의 폭정을 완전히 끝내주십시오. 우리는 또한 한반도 남쪽에 있는 모든 국민들께도 요청합니다. 북쪽에 있는 우리 형제자매들을 진정한 사랑으로 따뜻하게 맞이할 준비를 해주십시오. 그들은 비극적이고도 불의한 역사적 사건들 때문에 우리의 의지에 반해 우리와 이별했던 형제자매들입니다. 한반도 분단의 근본적인 원인은 전세계를 지배하려던 제국주의적/인종주의적인 정책 때문이었습니다. 그 때문에 일어난 것이 6.25(한국전쟁)입니다. 서구세계에서는 종종 "잊혀진 전쟁"으로 불리지만, 한국민들에게는 단 한 사람에게도 절대로 잊혀지지 않은 전쟁입니다. We are calling on the ROK Government to do everything within its constitutional authority—including clandestine and unnamed operations—to bring down the North Korean tyranny once and for all. We are also calling for all people in the Southern part of Korea to be prepared with open arms and true love to embrace their brethren and sisters from the Northern side, from whom we were divided only by means of tragic and unjust incidents in our history which took place against our common will. An imperialist and racist pursuit for global dominance was the root cause of Korea's division which laid the groundwork for the subsequent Korean War; often referred to as "The Forgotten War" in the west but never forgotten to any Korean. 우리는 국제사회에 요청합니다. 한국의 통일을 허용하고, 남북통일을 방해하지 말아주십시오. 국제사회는 한반도 분단을 범한 잘못에 대해 막대한 배상을 해야 합니다. 외부 세계가 한국의 주권에 대해 저지른 엄청난 잘못 때문에 우리 시대 약 7백만 명이 죽었습니다. The international community must pay profound reparations for crimes committed against Korea's territorial integrity. Because of the very egregious crimes against Korea's sovereignty committed by outside nations over 7,000,000 Koreans have died in the modern era (approx. 3 million in The Korean War, approx. 3 million by famine in North Korea, approx. 1 million have been killed in North Korea's concentration camps). 한국이 통일될 때까지 우리 중 누구에게도 진정한 자유는 없습니다. 잔혹하게 지속되는 냉전의 정치권력투쟁 아래 한반도는 계속 이용당하고 있습니다. 이것은 우리의 뜻이 아닙니다. 한국이 한국의 운명을 결정해야 합니다. 국제정치가 한국의 운명을 결정해서는 안됩니다! Until Korea is united there is no true freedom for any of us. This Peninsula continues to be exploited under a crude, inhuman, perpetual cold war political power struggle which is not our own.
