The Oneida Indian Nation is petitioning the NFL to change the name of the Washington Redskins, a STAPLE in the Washington DC area and the National Football League. One can only wonder how and WHY anyone who is or symphathizes with the Native American's, could find the Redskins offensive, but not the Dallas COWBOYS, New England PATRIOTS or Minnesota VIKINGS all whom stand for murder, rape, torture and theft for Natives everywhere! Oe also has to wonder, why the REDSKINS and not the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves or Kansas City Chiefs? ALL who seek to HONOR the Natives as does the Redskins.

As part Native American, born and raised in Washington, DC and a 35+ year fan of the Washington Redskins, I see a bigger agenda. One would loved to forget the Natives and glorify the teams that oppressed and STILL oppress them TODAY. 

I stood back and watched another DC staple, the Washington Bullets be attacked because "bullets" were deemed to "violent." The Washington Wizards haven't been the same since that ridiculous name change. I refuse to sit back and watch another staple be destroyed because of one "overly-sensitive" tribe. The Oneida Indian Nation does NOT speak for all Native Americans! The polls have clearly shown that 9-10 does NOT find the name REDSKINS offensive. Why should one tribe have the power to ruin an organization and change a name? 

Let's stop this ridiculous mission and start focusing on bigger issues! We are asking that you leave our beloved Washington Redskins alone!
