The unfair voting model we have here in the City of Sydney was modeled partly on Melbourne's. The author James Murphy concludes: "it needs to be asked whether there is any legitimate role for a tiny, gerrymandered business fiefdom in the governance of a modern, democratic metropolis serving millions.
