The Youth Environmental Responsibility Act is a petition that introduces a transformative approach to environmental conservation in Pakistan, requiring each student to plant one tree as a prerequisite for graduation from secondary school. Assigned to designated agroforestry zones and respecting regional indigenous trees, the planting will ensure the preservation of ecosystems while promoting the growth of diverse and resilient environments.

The Act mandates tree plantation as a civic responsibility by fostering a collective effort towards a greener future, acknowledging the exponential impact of individual actions over time. The cumulative effect of enforcing tree planting as a civic duty will facilitate ecological restoration.

Furthermore, this legislation will increase Pakistan’s potential in the carbon credit market and demonstrate our commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This Petition shall take effect immediately upon gathering sufficient support and shall be presented to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
