On-The-Job Training for Disadvantaged on Public Works Projects

We are sick of training programs that don’t lead to jobs. Sign this petition for paid, on-the-job training programs. Please!!! Skills and experience are the great equalizer. LBJ, the father of the Civil Rights Act, understood that apprenticeship training was the only way to guarantee not just equality as a right and a theory, but equality as a fact and as a result. He said, "We must open the doors of opportunity. But we must also equip our people to walk through those doors." By providing on-the-job apprenticeship training to minority and disadvantaged communities on large public works, these communities develop careers in which they can support their families. It is the only way to change communities that have suffered generational poverty, unemployment, government dependency and high rates of incarceration.
Help us compete because we’ve got the skills, not because of the color of our skin.
