The Temperature inside a Parked Vehicle can rise to dangerous levels quickly. Every year hundreds of Pets die from having been left in Parked Vehicles. Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise 20* F in 10 minutes, 30* F. in 20 minutes and iin an hour more than 40 *F. And, CRACKING THE WINDOW MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.

What an act of Kindness and Good Stewardship it would be if retailers would patrol their parking lots looking for distressed Dogs, Pets and Children. Perhaps arrangements could be made with local Humane Societies and Animal Welfare/Rescue groups to assist in the education of shoppers. In store Public Service Announcements regarding the dangers of hot temperatures to Creatures in parked cars would be invaluable as would the distribution of written information regarding same.

The motto to be remembered is "Love Them and Leave Them at HOME"  if the temperature is forecast to be 70* F  or higher. 

Let's band together to end the senseless injuries and deaths caused by leaving Pets in hot vehicles!
