I am expressing my gratitude to all the supporters who have signed the Justice for Omisha petition, and made it to this level. I saw immense support from people who realised what the Hostile Environment is and how it has affected migrants and refugees. Thank you for raising your voice against the injustice and becoming the voice of the voiceless.

During our campaign with Patients not Passport team, I got an opportunity to participate in few events and meet face to face with locals and share my story. It has  made me realise that there are lots of supporters that understands and are eager to participate and contribute in the cause.

With all the support from so many people, I have managed to uplift my confidence to talk and share more about our campaign. I wrote to my local MP to discuss more about the debt and to meet him in person and ask him to end charging migrants for the NHS.

In addition, the CEO from the BHRUT wrote an apology letter to my family for the stress that has caused us during the whole time and also mentioned about not pursuing the debt now and in the future. It was such a big win! It would not have been possible without the support from all the campaigners and supporters who signed our petition and help us more by sharing our story in the social media, and with friends and families. But our Campaign in not OVER yet!

The letter also mentioned that the hospital has no control over the immigration matter and cannot cancel the debt as it has been recorded in our immigration history. We further talked about this with our local MP when he agreed to see us and talk about the cause more in detail in one of his surgery. He wrote to the Immigration Minister about this case and showed us more support.

The response from the Immigration minister however, was not that positive where he said the debt cannot be canceled as it has been recorded in the Home Office file. But he said there won't be any issue while travelling or dealing with any of our immigration matters.

His statement was proved wrong when I traveled last month with my elder daughter. I was stopped at the Heathrow airport by the immigration officer on return. I was asked immediately about the hospital debt and whether it has been cleared. I was asked to show a proof if it has been withdrawn. I eventually, managed to convince the immigration officer by showing the letter written by the CEO of the hospital.

I was stopped, questioned and made to wait while I was with my daughter who was already sick from the travel. This shows how migrants are being treated by the Home Office even though they clearly promised that there won't be any issue. I felt like a criminal who was being detained by the police when you committed a crime. No one should feel like this when you are the victim yourself, a victim of Hostile environment.

I am and will still fight for the injustice in the NHS system and how they are being treated by the Home office so that no other immigrants or refugees has to go through what I have been through.

This is why we must continue to fight and campaign to end the charge in the NHS and to cancel the debt totally from the Home Office records. Our campaign is going strong and will continue to grow until the migrants and refugees are treated same like others and given equal right and opportunities to make their life better in every possible way.

Thank you for your continuous support!
