Humanity has few events that bring us all together. Do you know any?

Maybe New Year - that's such an event we all share and reflect of the past year, where we are now in life and think about what the next year might bring for ourselves, our family and friends, the planet.  

Do you know of any other one?

The only one I can think of are the Olympic Games and I hope you'll say the 17#GlobalGoals and the UN Observances with the World Days/Years/Decades as they bring you along the important topics to humanity throughout the year and you can read what the best of the best specialists advanced by their federations have been working on the last year.  Such events are frail.  Regarding the Olympics for example, humanity has lost them already a couple of times:

The Olympic Truce holds the record of the longest Peace Treaty when it started -776 BCE and held stand till 393 ACE - that's some 1,200 years, making it the most durable peace accord in history. Untill a Roman Emperor abolished the Games to suppress paganism.  It took over 1500 years - until 1896 - when a teacher remembered them after again a seemingly endless cycle of wars in the same region - and we already lost them again in 1944 in the second World War and AGAIN in the Cold War - the counter had to be set to zero -when they were boycotten one time because 1 group didn't want to go to the other group and 4 years later the other way round - really as little children.

- but this is guaranteed by the Olympic Truce signed before every Olympic Games at the General Assembly of the United Nations by the diplomats of all the countries.  The IOC - International Olympic Committee organises the Olympic Games, it is not some government but a team of mainly former top athletes, trainers, sport doctors and researchers.  The OIC has an ethical committee and the president is the former UN Secretary General BAN KI Moon.  The OIC can only bring our Olympic light and show that humanity can come together and inspire that the same happens in more domains.

For example: April 6th the World Day for Sport, Development and Peace www.un.org/en/observances/sport-day These come after 3 years of debate with input from the best specialists from relevant federations from all over the globe.  More and more these observances become a guiding principle for educating youth, young aduls, people. If you'd have participated in for example the decades-the topic raised in the decade would have had teenager becoming young adults working on them for 10 years, become specialists and the problem raised would be solved or on a straight shedule to be solved. The best day to start is today! I have them in my google calender.
