One of every four Americans have made a conscious effort to reduce their meat intake in the last year. Ten million Americans are vegan. Another fifteen million are vegetarian. Millions more don't need to be under a label of anything to desire occasional alternatives to meat in their meals.

The Olive Garden has long been a wonderful place for a vegan or vegetarian to get a fantastic, full meal with companions of any dietary preference. They have a page of their website dedicated to explaining vegan and vegetarian items, and the staff is always aware of the options if you just tell them your intension is to order a vegan or vegetarian meal. It is really nice to be on the road and see an olive garden around, knowing they have these options.

That said, I think they are missing out on being a real pioneer in the family friendly restaurant chain industry. It is time, my friends, for Olive Garden to partner with one of the many vegan meatball companies to create the greatest vegan meatball on the planet. A proprietary recipe, perfectly seasoned and cooked in a way that you can't even recreate at home.

I believe it would be a positive direction for the company to take in both financial and ethical aspects. I believe that this company can create a product that will be preferred over traditional meatballs.
