Change OSU Grading Policy to pass/fail for Fall 2020

Change OSU Grading Policy to pass/fail for Fall 2020
The Issue
We as a Cowboy family are trying our best to accommodate this semester’s online learning platform. We were offered a pass/fail grading system last semester, when arguably professors were more accommodating then than they are now. The current grading system does not adequately represent the needs of virtual students, as offered for the previous semester.
College students should not be forced to choose between their mental/physical health and the rigorous layout of online learning. Many are struggling to work while attending school, thus negatively affecting their grades. The variability in knowledge of technology among different professors only further implicates an inconsistent learning platform. Furthermore, the different technological layouts of classes, departments and colleges has continued to drive confusion and student disenfranchisement.
OSU, we are calling on you to help your students and prioritize the education we pay for, during this unprecedented time.
