Will Rogers Disc Golf Course, which was the second course installed in the state of Oklahoma, was co-designed in 1978 by "Steady" Ed Headrick, an employee of Wham-o, Inc.  "Steady" invented the Frisbee™ and disc golf.  He was personally asked to design the disc golf course (DGC) at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City and was transported here for the installation.  This DGC is one of the nation's oldest courses and is still almost in its original configuration.  The historical significance of this course cannot be overstated.

Will Rogers DGC is scheduled to be drastically changed and/or removed by the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department in 2015 to expand the swimming pool and the tennis center.  There are very few park amenities that are free and cater to people aged 4 to 90, and this DGC is used by thousands each month who fall into this age range.  Oklahoma City as a whole has too few courses in relation to the disc golfing community that resides here. 

We, the undersigned, petition the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department not to change or remove Will Rogers DGC.  We believe the greater community of Oklahoma City as well as people from all over the country benefit from playing this historical course.
