Okaloosa Wants to Recycle!
Okaloosa Wants to Recycle!
Recently the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners decided we would no longer recycle in Okaloosa County due to a $1 increase per household per month. They will still pick up our recycling as if nothing has changed, but our items will NOT be recycled - our recycling will go straight to the landfill.
If you’re willing to pay an extra $1 a month to continue recycling, please sign and share! ♻️
There will be a recycling workshop and listening session on Thursday, October 10th at 5:30 pm at the Okaloosa County Administration Building located at 1250 N. Eglin Parkway, Shalimar, Florida 32579. We didn't get a chance to vote on this so plan to show up and make your voice heard. Mark your calendar!
If you would like to continue this discussion, check out the Facebook group, Keep the Emerald Coast Beautiful.

Reach out to your local city officials and/or Waste Management to find out if your items are still being recycled. Some cities within the county still have programs in place, but contracts are being negotiated. For those who can still recycle, we appreciate your support for the rest of the county!
Our commissioners are being notified as more people continue to sign so please sign and share! We still have people in the county who are not aware of what’s going on!
*The donation pop-up is to support Change.org as a platform for petitions like this. It will NOT go to help us recycle in Okaloosa so don't donate unless you want to.
