Petition to Remove Kristina M. Johnson as President of The Ohio State University
The Issue
There is substantial evidence of President Johnson's poor leadership practices, and an overall inability to create a safe and positive learning environment on and around The Ohio State campus for the students and staff.
Ms. Johnson has made it clear that her top priorities are (1) Covid Surveillance (harvesting biological data at the expense of the students and their rights) and (2) Fighting racism.
These are activist priorities. NOT EDUCATIONAL PRIORITIES. She has indicated nothing about the betterment of the education of the students at The Ohio State University. The Ohio State University has more than a century of tradition providing the highest education possible for the students.
The frustration and emotional stress, due to increased crime around campus has become an issue with many students. But her PRIORITY has been random tests for the students attending the university for COVID19, which has a 99.9% survival rate in college age people. As of 10/5/2020 there have been 2987 positive tests, and have had no hospitalizations, and no students have died. (see attached URL address.) But she continues the testing at a higher rate.
She also indicates fighting racism as a priority. Yet, she has done nothing proactively towards fighting crime or racism. While she could have used the latest assault by two individuals against 3 students on Lane Avenue (possible hate crimes) to make a stance, It has virtually been covered up. She also has remained virtually silent regarding the senseless murder that occurred on 10/11/2020 (link below to letter from friend of Chase). Some students in the area indicated they know of approximately 30 students that are moving due to fear of more violence. Yet her PRIORITY has been random testing for the students attending the university. Not the crucial issue of crime, gang activity, and hate crimes in the area.
A loss of trust from parents and students due to misleading the student body on the opening of the university is another issue. Students signed agreements, not realizing the implications; Covid testing and masking everywhere on campus. These rules were set in place after dorm contracts were signed and tuition was paid. All happening with no reduction in tuition as most of the classes went remote.
Our future lies in the hands of the students at The OSU. Please do not jeopardize their future. The Ohio State University is a life-long dream for many to attend and it has become a crime-ridden, COVID19 testing, anxiety filled nightmare.
