Help us pass Ohio Senate Bill 112 (Matthew's Bill)

Help us pass Ohio Senate Bill 112 (Matthew's Bill)
The Issue
Please sign this petition as a vote in favor of sending Senate Bill 112 (also known as Matthew's Bill) to the Ohio Senate Floor for a vote. It is currently in the Ohio State and Local Government Committee. Matthew's Bill would, as of January 1, 2017, require places of assembly in Ohio to include a family restroom equipped with a table to diaper people with special needs. It will benefit not only those with special needs who require assistance in diapering, but anybody who requires a care taker for bathroom needs. Families will be able to access more of Ohio together because the basic need of a bathroom will be met in public areas.
Currently, elderly and people with disabilities who require diapering or simply assistance cannot access most locations because of the lack of this accommodation. Many caretakers are not of the same gender as those they care for and a family restroom will alleviate that problem. Daughters can be helped by dads, sons by mothers, husbands by wives, wives by husbands, etc. so that everyone can enjoy the state of Ohio.
Access to public places and places in the community is a right of all Ohioans regardless of their ability. Help Ohio live up to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by passing this legislation into state law.
If you are 18 or over and a resident of Ohio, please sign our petition to convince the Ohio General Assembly to vote in favor of Senate Bill 112 before 2016. Please also contact members of the State and Local Government Committee encouraging them to act on this legislation. Reach out to your own district Representatives and Senators as well.
