Deny parole for confessed serial killer Laurence (Lawrence) Frank Lamont
Deny parole for confessed serial killer Laurence (Lawrence) Frank Lamont
The Issue
Laurence (or Lawrence) Frank Lamont (Ohio Inmate #A133044) confessed to participating in the murders of seven men in a crime spree that spanned six states in the weeks after he broke out of Ohio's Marion Prison in February, 1972. He admitted executing Temperance, Michigan, store clerk Earl R. Ludlow and Toledo gas station attendant Joseph Satcher just hours apart on the night of March 21-22, 1972, in Monroe County, Michigan. Lamont and a fellow escapee also were responsible for kidnapping and killing another Ohioan, as well as men in Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, according to his own confessions. These were cold killings, Lamont has expressed no remorse, and he continues to pose a threat to the community. Lamont is an example of a violent, predatory offender who should never be paroled.
