The people of Woodsfield and surrounding areas want camping to be allowed once again at Monroe lake. For years camping was a big feature for the lake and now that a new boat ramp is in the making, allowing camping would make it even better. With it also being a public hunting ground, camping would allow out of area hunters a place to camp and hunt at the same time. Why let a peaceful area perfect for hunting, fishing, boating, kayaking, etc go to waste. Many locals along with myself want to see many updates happen at the lake but one thing at a time. The camping areas are already there, they just need mowed and cleaned up. The road back to the camping areas needs some gravel, that would be the most "costly" thing to make this happen. I'm sure this county could come together and lend a hand if that's what needs to happen to get this rolling. Camping at the lake hasn't been permitted since I believe 2015, let see if we can change that!
