Ohio Knife Laws - Modification & Clarification of Concealed Carry of Knives

Ohio Knife Laws - Modification & Clarification of Concealed Carry of Knives
The Issue
Ohio Concealed Carry Handgun Licensing process has been in place for over a decade now. With the passing of the CHL licensing in Ohio there was modification & clarification regarding carrying firearms, storing firearms, use of deadly force, etc.
We (CHL licensees of Ohio) would like clarification of concealed carry knife laws in Ohio. Right now the knife laws in our great state are very vague, which exposes those who carry knives to many legal risks. Knives are important tools used for working, outdoors activities, safety, survival, self defense, and many other practical uses.
Proposed changes to Ohio Knife Laws:
1. Open carry of knives in Ohio is made legal (for those who are not legally prohibited from owning & possessing a firearm Federally.)
2. Concealed carry of knives with a blade length of less than 4" is made legal in Ohio (for those who are not legally prohibited from owning & possessing a firearm Federally.)
3. Concealed carry of knives with a blade length of 4.0"-12" is made legal in Ohio (for those who possess a valid CHL or CCW license issued by any of the 50 U.S. states). The CHL or CCW license must be carried on the person while concealed carrying a knife with these characteristics.
The CHL licensee has a duty to inform (details here shall mirror requirements for duty to inform regarding concealed carrying firearms with a CHL license in Ohio.)
