It's time to rally together for a change that respects both the history of the sport and our vibrant nation by adopting the nickname that reflects our national pride: "The Green and Gold." This name symbolises our national colours, echoing our sporting heritage and casting an image of strength, resilience, and unity on the international stage. Not only would it be a more fitting moniker, but it would also engender a sense of national identity amongst the team, the fans, and the global football community.

Changing the team's nickname to "The Green and Gold" would foster a sense of seriousness about the sport in Australia. Football is the ultimate team sport, and Australia should respect its traditions while nurturing our unique identity within it. Moreover, the current nickname may inadvertently undermine our efforts to be seen as a legitimate football nation. Embracing a name that reflects both our sporting history and national colours can help the nation take the sport more seriously and increase our chances of winning the AFC Asian Cup and the FIFA World Cup.
