This petition is aimed at saving the lives of the beautiful male lions of the Nkawu pride in the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve. This reserve is situated in the Hammanskraal area. 
The Dinokeng Reserve Management have rigid rules in place with regards to pedestrian movement within the park. Unless accompanied by a reserve game ranger it is absolutely forbidden be inside the reserve on foot. 
Last Sunday night, a man chose to not wait for his employer to drive him from the reserve gate to his place of residence/work situated within the park. He had a momentary lapse of judgement, as we all do sometimes, and decided to take the chance at walking. The group of male lions attacked him. A tragic error in judgement on his part, ending his life and subsequently placing the lions lives in danger as well. 
Despite there being no definitive evidence of the lions being any more deadly to humans after tasting human flesh, there is a call to have them euthanized. This is not how most larger game reserves would necessarily handle the situation, but it would seem their lives may possibly hinge on the mercy of this petition. 
Not taking away from the human tragedy, Lions were being lions and must now die for that? 
Lion numbers in the wild are decreasing dramatically due to poaching, disease and too many other factors. Killing these magnificent animals for somebody’s bad decision making does not seem like a fair deal.

Please add your signature to our petition. We have no idea how long these animals may have. So, lets gather as much support behind them as we can in the hope that they may continue just being lions in a reserve that is supposed to allow them the safety to go about their lives as normally as possible. Alternately, find a possibility of relocation.
