Dear Citizens,

On Tuesday, Save Our Coast Mumbai hosted a panel discussion, "The Road Not Taken," with prominent environmentalists, architects and transportation experts. The overwhelming turnout reflects Mumbaikars' commitment to democratic values, and belief in the need for transparency in decision making about infrastructure projects that affect our future.

Please see the article, “Coastal Road will spell doom for biodiversity, livelihoods,” published in The Hindu for a summary of the panelists’ opinion on the project.

Here's a video by one of the panelists, Rahul Kadri, which examines whether the Coastal Road will solve Mumbai's transportation issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp3pLvCGGgk&t=5s Please subscribe to the "Save Our Coast Mumbai" YouTube channel for more information and updates.

Next week, the matter will be heard by the Bombay High Court. The petitioners and their legal teams are in the midst of preparing for making a strong legal case against the project. You can play an important role by increasing the number of people advocating for more inclusive and sustainable development. We would appreciate if you share the petition and material in this update with your networks and encourage more citizens to take a stand for the future of Mumbai.

Thank you

Save Our Coast Mumbai Team
