Petition to Call on the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo to desist from leasing offensively ostentatious luxury jets and put to good use the Ghana Air Force Falcon 900EX jet for his foreign travels.

The Government of Ghana has invested in an Air Force Falcon 900EX jet for the exclusive use of the President on his international travels. We have Air Force pilots capable of flying President Akufo-Addo and his entourage in comfort across the globe.

We cannot accept the fact that our limited resources were used to hire a jet at the staggering cost of approximately £15,000 per hour at the expense of the struggling taxpayer, when there are students without classrooms, hospitals without basic medication and equipment, challenges with water supply and deplorable roads.

We demand that President Akufo-Addo live up to his much touted mantra of protecting the public purse and cease renting or leasing outrageously expensive aircrafts for his foreign travels. We also demand that each and every Government official, demonstrate the frugality that reflects the harsh economic realities faced by Ghanaians today.

We thus Call on the President to, from henceforth, desist from extravagantly and unconscionably hiring top-of-the-range luxury jets for foreign travels when we have our own Presidential jet which can be used to save our nation significant resources. We expect that our hard earned taxes will be put to the most judicious use.
