At UT Austin, students must get approval from the dean of admissions to take over 17 hours a semester. This number needs to be changed to 18 so students can take six 3 hour classes without adding a step and waiting for approval from the university. If students are willing and motivated to take the hours, let them! If they want to make the most of their time and money, let them without requiring a speed bump in their way!
