Offer direct flights between Knoxville and Provo on Allegiant Air

Offer direct flights between Knoxville and Provo on Allegiant Air
The Issue
Do you want a non-stop flight between Knoxville, TN and Provo, UT? Allegiant Air already provides affordable, direct routes out of both Provo and Knoxville. We are simply asking that they connect the two!

We ask Allegiant to consider adding a direct flight route between Knoxville and Provo to serve the growing demand from students, families, and vacationers. This would provide an affordable, convenient, and simple way for individuals to travel between the two cities and enjoy all that both have to offer.
Who is Impacted?
- University students and their families: Knoxville and Provo are both university towns, with schools such as UT, BYU, Pellissippi, UVU, and other smaller colleges. Many students, parents, and even some professors frequently travel between the two cities to visit family, watch football games, and attend graduations.
- Vacationers: Both Knoxville and Provo have growing cities and beautiful mountain landscapes. Avid skiers would benefit from quick access to the slopes in Utah, and hikers would have same-day access to both the Rockies and the Smokies.
- Religious communities: The majority of Latter-day Saints have ties to large families in Utah. Many LDS from Knoxville, Chattanooga, and the Cumberland region routinely send their children to BYU, and would visit friends and family more often if they could.
What's at Stake?
- Ease of travel: Direct flights would make it easier and more convenient for students and families to visit each other. The closest direct flight to Provo is a two-three hour drive from East Tennessee.
- Time: There are no nonstop flights between Knoxville and Provo (or even SLC). Existing routes require an 8-10 hour layover.
- Affordability: Allegiant Air's affordable airfares would enable more frequent visits for those on a budget. Most roundtrip flights from Knoxville to Utah are over $500.
- Profit: Allegiant will lose money if it doesn't meet the high demand between the two cities. Knoxville customers can currently use the Allegiant route from Provo to Nashville, but the long drive is often not worth the trip.
Why Now?
- Growing interest: As the academic year begins, there is a growing demand for more accessible and affordable travel options.
- Changing routes: Allegiant adjusts its routes every 4-6 months, and will be doing so again soon. Now is the time to demonstrate interest!
