Yesterday I lost my brother to a tragic accident along Marine drive. My family and many others have and will lose loved ones from driving into the Columbia River. On January 24th 2021 my brother was the seventh fatality on this road. These loved ones are not just another statistic, they are loved and missed so greatly. This stretch of road will continue to claims the lives of loved ones tragically being directly along the Columbia River with no safety barrier between the two. 
Simple guard rails or safety barriers would prevent deaths. What is stopping the city from adding any rail or barrier? 
Many resources are dispatched when these tragic events happen, many families and loved ones suffer emotionally, physically and financially. 
My brother and too many other lives should still be here today and possibly could be if Marine drive was addressed as the danger it is.
