Conduct all UG and PG Exams of Ravenshaw University online

Conduct all UG and PG Exams of Ravenshaw University online

The Issue

Despite multiple forms of protest on 26th March, at least three departments of Ravenshaw University continued with their examinations. Yesterday, on 27th of March, one student of these departments who appeared for the offline examination has tested positive. This can lead to the infection of other students, staff and invigilator who attended the examination. Such a situation could have been easily avoided if the departments conducted examinations online.

Even then, Ravenshaw University has decided to conduct semester examinations for final year students in the offline mode on 30th and 31st of March. This would lead to a massive outbreak of COVID-19 in Ravenshaw University which might spread in the entire city of Cuttack as many locals study in the university too.

Many students had left the campus by giving leave applications when the first cases were found in the University. Offline examinations would force them to return to the university. They might unconsciously bring COVID with them if they come back. And, if we look into COVID-19 cases statistically, it is clear that it's an upward trend. The cases keep rising every single day. Even if the administration decides to postpone the examinations, if they conduct them offline it is ultimately going to prove dangerous and fatal. As such, we demand the conduction of examinations in the online mode.

We ask the administration to consider this proposal and act immediately for the safety of students, staff, teachers and higher authorities alike.
