Stop Killing Animals Needlessly

Stop Killing Animals Needlessly
The issue
Imagine being killed (even though you're completely healthy) to make room for someone else. Now imagine yourself, after death, being mutilated for the public to see. By public I mean children by the way. Now imagine that being ok. Imagine a world where that is ok. I'm sorry to tell you, but you don't really need a vivid imagination to conjure up these images. All you need is to take a gaze over at the rest of the world, because it's happening RIGHT NOW.
Mere days ago in Odense Zoo in Denmark, a lion (which was still a cub) was openly dissected in front of an audience, in order to show children what the anatomy of a lion looks like. This lion had been put down a few months prior to make room for lions that were able to breed. Imagine killing someone just because they can't have children! In society, we call that a hate crime, because the following people can't have children: people who were in an accident, people born unable to have children and homosexual people (all of which make up a large chunk of the world).
This isn't the first time Danish zoos have done this sort of public spectacle. Last year, Copenhagen zoo publicly dissected a TWO-YEAR OLD giraffe, before feeding the baby to lions. They also killed two lion cubs and two old lions (which is effectively like killing two old people and two babies) to make room more one male lion.
The zoos spin these issues like they're part of some way to save animals by sacrificing others of their species, but they wouldn't be going endangered if it weren't for us anyway. So stop making these executive decisions! Let life run its course and help animals throughout it, but only if you can do so without making a decision to sacrifice some for the others. That's not how we think about humans, so why is it any different with a completely different species? I'm not trying to promote some vegan agenda and say that we should stop killing animals altogether. I'm just trying to promote a human agenda that we should stop killing them needlessly. Besides the pure atrocity of these actions, this sort of thing is detrimental to children. Children grow up thinking of death as a spectacle and if you care so much about your species, why would you let that happen? Let me clarify, this may come in the form of attack on Odense and Copenhagen Zoo, but in no way is needless killing and hurting of animals limited to Denmark. Although, according to the Danish Animal Welfare Act: "animals should be treated carefully, properly and protected as best as possible from pain, suffering, fear, disablement and major inconvenience", so this in itself is a breach of laws. After all, being killed just because someone "better" came along would probably be covered by "major inconvenience".
Please sign this petition and help make the world a better place by stopping the needless harming and killing of animals. If OUR deaths need to have meaning and not be made into a spectacle, why don't theirs?
