Bring Back MyDinos.com

Bring Back MyDinos.com

The Issue

MyDinos.com was a game created by Oceanside Interactive back in 2009. However, both the site disappeared in late 2013 seemingly without a trace. Instead, the game was replaced with a new app known as “MyDinos Go!” which also disappeared soon after.

MyDinos.com was an open-world virtual game where you, as the protagonist, play as a customized character. The character could customize their colors, clothing, armor and create a unique design specific to them.

Throughout the open world, players would have the ability to encounter and tame over 250+ different kinds of “Dynamals.” These were essentially dinosaurs or other extinct or endangered species from around the world. These creatures, like Pokémon, would battle alongside you.

The game was seemingly suitable for all ages. For younger viewers, the game would teach lessons about various animals, while older players would feel comfort in the art direction, the battling system and customization.

With so many “Dynamals” to tame in combination with the questing system, players had a reason to continue to come visit the game to effectively capture every creature available. It also created a sense of community, as players would interact with one another.

The ultimate goals of this petition are to determine why Oceanside Interactive ended this game, as the domain is now open for purchase and to make an attempt at showing why this game should be brought back in the current day.

A 2018/2019 version of MyDinos could feature updated graphics, mechanics and features. It could showcase these creatures from years past to a new generation and provide nostalgia for the players who played the original game. With new updates showing more customization options, new species of “Dynamals” and new quests, it could bring a large audience in.

The game may also encourage education systems around the world to add this game to their teaching curriculums as it is well documented that children learn more when having fun. Just look at the success Minecraft has had on the schooling systems using it for educational purposes.

Please sign our petition if you feel this browser-based online game should make a return.
Thank you.
