The Issue
Problem
Currently, Occupational Therapists (OT) cannot conduct the initial assessment with home health clients. As of now, Physical Therapists and Nurses are the only health practitioners that are allowed to conduct the initial assessment. This is an unnecessarily long process and makes it inconvenient for the OT and home health clients.
Solution
This problem can be solved by allowing OTs to make the initial assessment with home health clients. In doing so, it would speed up the client's treatment process without having to wait for approval from the Physical Therapists and Nurses.
