Water Rates Proposed 3% Price Hike Increase

Mount Isa Rate Payers are angry and gobsmacked that Councillors have proposed charging an extra 3% on top of what we already are excessively charged and pay for our water supply, which is separately charged to our twice yearly water access fees.

The previous water rate charging system needs to be seriously revisited and reconsidered and offered as an alternative option for rate payers, so every rate payer is actually officially considered, consulted and provided a more affordable payment choice and option to receive a fairer and justified MICC water rates charging system.
