Randall Miller submitted a motion for early release from prison citing health issues and claiming he is a model prisoner. Miller and his producer/wife, Jody Savin, deceived and endangered their crew to a degree that they stole the life of camera assistant Sarah Jones.

It is bad enough that producer Jody Savin avoided sentencing for her crimes due to a deal Miller struck for pleading guilty. In a sense, he is serving time for both of their crimes.

Sarah's family and friends can't petition to bring her back from the dead because she didn't deserve to die. Why should Miller serve any less than the maximum sentence?
