Object to planned overdevelopment of King's Road M&S site

Object to planned overdevelopment of King's Road M&S site
The Issue
Protect the integrity and unique charm of the King's Road by objecting to the proposed overdevelopment of the M&S site, which is wholly incompatible and out of character with the local area.
Having turned down the initial over extensive application for this project, planning permission has now been pre-approved for the site, which is surrounded by conservation areas on three sides which include listed residential housing. This current proposal would irrevocably alter the quality of life of the residents, the local parking situation, the amount of foot traffic to the area, and will lead to loss of jobs.
Despite multiple requests, the developer has failed to produce clear and transparent information about the true scale and impact of this development. Specifically, drawings and information about the increase in scale and mass between the current and proposed buildings, and whether M&S will be a continued tenant on the site.
Many of the RBKC's fundamental policies regarding context and character, design quality, building heights and optimising site capacity through design-led approach are ignored to accommodate a development that will be a blight to the community, local residents and visitors to the area.
We do not oppose development - we oppose overdevelopment and that done without transparency!
The opportunity to object ends 26th April - so please sign now!

I object to the above planning application. It is incompatible with the Council's own policies and is dramatically out of scale in size and bulk. The design of the proposed development would be damaging to the unique character of the King's Road.
