To Minister Wood (Transport Minister) and the NZTA,

I've created this petition, because I think it is utterly ridiculous for people to require a vaccine passport to access the right to sit a practical driving test here in NZ.

There will be many young, and some older kiwis chomping at the bit, to be able to sit their practical restricted or full license tests, in order to enjoy freedom of movement in our beautiful country.

With having the ability to drive a motor vehicle, comes freedom, independence and a sense of belonging to society, not to mention being a requirement for many jobs.

To have this fundamental right removed due to someones fundamental choice and human right to not be vaccinated is absolutely WRONG!

I'm challenging Minister Woods (Transport Minister) and the NZTA, to drop the requirement to have to show a vaccine pass to sit a practical test, whether it be restricted or full license.

I propose that, if unvaccinated, to fulfill necessary public health requirements, that the person going for their license takes a pre practical rapid antigen test / saliva test to prove they don't have Covid 19.

To me, and looking at this from a logical standpoint, with common sense in mind. This should suffice, and allow the person to sit their practical test.

Please consider this petition Minister Wood, and the NZTA,
